Blood Brothers' Surpasses 'Polis Evo 3' and 'Sheriff: Narko Integriti' with RM62M in 20 Days; Sequel Announced!
KUALA LUMPUR, May 1 — The action-filled Blood Brothers: Bara Naga Directed by Syafiq Yusof and Abhilash Chandra, has surpassed yet another milestone.
During an unexpected declaration at a bustling promotion event in Bukit Bintang last evening, production company Skop Productions and distribution firm Primeworks Studios disclosed that Blood Brothers has raked in a massive RM62 million at the box office in just 20 days — including early screenings.
That number puts the movie ahead of two of Syafiq’s earlier blockbuster hits. Polis Evo 3 , which earned RM54 million, and Sheriff: Narko Integriti , which raked in RM60.5 million last year.
The takeover at Bukit Bintang also attracted a substantial number of excited supporters, who arrived en masse to root for the cast and directors.
The attendees included celebrities such as Syafiq Kyle, Sharnaaz Ahmad, and Irfan Zaini, alongside Skop Productions founder and seasoned director Datuk Yusof Haslam, as well as fellow directors Syafiq and Abhilash.
Blood Brothers Follows Ariff (Syafiq Kyle), an intensely devoted bodyguard who gets blamed for turning against his criminal clan. Pushed into hiding, Ariff has to clear his name with the assistance of his distant sibling Jaki (Syazwan Zulkifli). Meanwhile, he finds himself pursued relentlessly by his one-time close pal Ghaz (Sharnaaz Ahmad), who currently heads the top unit formerly recognized as the Blood Brothers.
The ensemble cast also features local talents such as Amelia Henderson, Shukri Yahaya, Zamarul Hisham and Andy Teh.
Following its phenomenal success, the story isn’t over just yet. As reported by The Star , a sequel — Blood Brothers Part 2: Perang Naga — is officially underway.
"It has been an amazing journey. We simply want to keep this momentum going. We express our gratitude to the Malaysian fans for their extraordinary support," stated Abhilash at a recent fan meetup held at GSC Nu Sentral.
The movie featured several highly committed actors and actresses, and we're thankful for their tremendous effort.
He also verified that a majority of the cast members will be reprising their roles for the sequel.
