Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant The ex-hideout countryside house of 's former residence is now listed for sale at £2.6 million.

The frontman of the English rock group resided in the Grade II-listed manor house located in Penallt, Monmouthshire, throughout the 1980s prior to his relocation.

Those looking to acquire The Argoed, featuring 10 acres of land complete with an arboretum and stables, will also gain a piece of history as it was visited by Charles I during the Civil War era.

This was also where George Bernard Shaw penned 'The Man of Destiny' and 'Mrs. Warren's Profession'.

The kitchen, now situated at the center of the house featuring an electric AGA, is encircled by five living areas.

A stairway ascends to the upper level where you'll find the main bedroom featuring spacious Georgian-style windows along with an attached bathroom equipped with a standalone bathtub.

Additionally, there is a guest suite featuring wooden paneled walls, alongside five more bedrooms distributed throughout the whole of the second floor.

The gardens are included in the Cadw Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales, which is managed by the Welsh heritage organization Cadw.

It is a classic countryside manor mixed with lawns, bushes, and flower beds, offering expansive vistas over the valley.

A Japanese garden surrounds a water element, complemented by an open-fronted loggia.

Knight Frank estate agents stated: "The Argoed is an impressively maintained, Grade II listed, three-story countryside residence."

The essence of the property traces back to the Jacobean era.

This extraordinary residence spans about 10 acres and boasts stunning vistas, a magnificent arboretum, and an awe-inspiring stable complex.

The renowned architectural historian, John Newman, succinctly referred to The Argoed as "enticing."

This follows another of Mr Plant's previous residences making news last month when its new owner spoke about it. He plans to transform the cottage along with the surrounding land into his own micronation.

In the 1950s, the Bron-Yr-Aur cottage served as a vacation retreat for Mr. Plant’s family prior to him relocating there again with fellow band members during the 1970s.

In the 1970s, when they were staying at the cottage, Led Zeppelin utilized it as an isolated space for composing music and avoiding the swarm of devoted followers who constantly trailed them across the nation.

It was amidst this picturesque backdrop that the band penned several of their iconic tracks, such as "Stairway to Heaven" and "Bron-Yr-Aur Stomp."

The cottage has since transformed into a legendary site within rock history and draws thousands of enthusiasts each year.
